LOGLINE
Investigative journalist Ardita uncovers the illegal import of expired medicines disguised as humanitarian aid, exposing a corruption network that reaches the highest levels of institutional power.
SYNOPSIS
When investigative journalist Ardita is secretly handed a suitcase of classified documents exposing the illegal import of expired medicines into Albania under the guise of humanitarian aid, she and her colleague Dren begin uncovering a network protected by powerful institutions. As the evidence grows, the case becomes personal: one of the outdated drugs listed was administered to Ardita’s late mother during her cancer treatment.
While Dren pushes to publish the story immediately, Ardita insists on exposing those at the top of the system. Their pursuit of the full truth triggers consequences that spiral beyond their control.
As they are interrogated by a hostile prosecutor, the line between responsibility and guilt blurs, forcing Ardita to confront the true cost of revealing what power is determined to hide.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
The Report was born from aquestion that continues to trouble me. What is the true cost of speaking out when power is determined to keep you silent?
In Albania, access to proper healthcare is often undermined by corruption, negligence, and greed. Stories of expired or ineffective medicines are not abstract headlines. They represent real lives, real families, and irreversible consequences. Yet beyond the scandal itself, I became interested in the moral terrain surrounding those who attempt to expose such injustice.
This film enters the confined space of an investigative newsroom and examines the psychological and ethical weight carried by those who choose to confront entrenched systems. Ardita’s journey is about uncovering corruption and confronting the personal cost of speaking the truth, the tension between responsibility, guilt, and conviction.
Through restrained performances and an observational visual approach, I wanted the audience to experience the pressure that builds when institutions close ranks and silence becomes a form of power. The Report is ultimately a reflection on the fragile and necessary act of refusing to look away.
